Rewards are treated as "miscellaneous income" and withholding tax is not applied.
If you're a resident and/or taxpayer in Japan, you will need to declare rewards on your taxes if the total of your miscellaneous income in one fiscal year exceeds 200,000 JPY. For details, please check the Japanese National Tax Agency website.
Rewards can only be sent to a Japanese bank account at this time.
